The Way Dōjō

Practice • Preserve • share

501(c)(3) nonprofit status in development.

We work to create physical, digital, and community spaces where living traditions can be experienced, taught, and shared; document people’s knowledge and skills; and help them shape and share their stories.

THE WAY OF PRACTICE

Learn. Train. Create. Participate.

Keep traditions living by actively practicing them.

THE WAY TO PRESERVE

Capture. Organize. Document. Protect.

Record people, practices, stories, and knowledge before they are lost.

THE WAY TO SHARE

Teach. Connect. Give it a voice and a home.
Help knowledge, stories, and traditions be discovered and carried forward.

COMMUNITY

EXAMPLES OF THE WAY Dōjō AT WORK
Every community carries a story.

We help give that story a home, honoring the work behind it and creating a place where it can be discovered, shared, and carried forward.

Preserving and sharing the history, knowledge, and voices of Okinawan karate through video archives, interviews, research, articles, and other archival materials.

Traditional Okinawan Shorin-ryu karate rooted in the teachings of Chotoku Kyan and the Seibukan lineage. A place to practice, study, and carry the tradition forward.

DŌJŌ TO DŌJŌ

A Way DÓJÓ initiative that takes Seibukan MN on the road — visiting other dōjō to train, exchange knowledge, and strengthen connections across the Seibukan community.

THE VISION AHEAD

The Way Dōjō is already building a digital home for living traditions. a place to document, preserve, teach, and share. We hope to one day create a physical home along side it: a flexible, welcoming space where people can practice, learn, create, and gather, with video, audio, and live-streaming built in to connect the two.
